Keep Your Tree Fresh and Happy!

Make a 1⁄2 inch fresh cut on the butt prior to putting into stand.
Water daily – a tree can drink 1 quart of water per day.
Keep water level filled (a clear seal will form if water level drops below the tree butt, not allowing for additional absorption of water).
Keep cool – Place tree away from heat vents, fireplaces and sunny windows.
Safety

Do not overload electrical circuits.
Do not use burning candles on your tree.
Always turn off the lights when you leave or go to bed.
Never burn your Christmas tree in a fireplace unless split and seasoned as all other firewood or it can contribute to creosote buildup and potential house fires.

For more information on tree care and safety, go to the National Christmas Tree Association and the Pacific NW Christmas Tree Association.
